Draw and write notes on PDF charts

In stage view, tap the pen button at the top to mark up the chart on screen. Your marks are yours alone: they show only on your screens, not the band's, and they're saved to your account.

The tools

When you tap the pen button, the tools take the place of the top bar. On a phone they show as icons.

• Draw: draw with your finger or a stylus. Tap the colored circle next to the tools to pick pink, amber, white, green, or blue.
• Highlight: on a PDF, draws a wide see-through stroke, like a marker. It has its own colors.
• Note: tap a spot on the page to pin a note there. Type it and press Save note. With the Note tool, tap a pinned note to change it, or press Delete note.
• Erase: tap or drag across a drawing or a note to erase it.
• The curved arrow takes back your last change on this song.
• Press Done when you're finished.

Pedals keep turning pages while the tools are open. If you draw with a stylus, a hand resting on the screen is ignored.

Saved, and yours alone

• Your marks belong to the song's chart, so they come back each time that song is on stage, in any service, on any device you sign in on.
• A small icon beside the tools shows whether your marks are saved. With no connection, they're kept on your device and sent when you're back online.
• If a leader removes or replaces the PDF, your marks from it aren't lost. A chip under the song's title says how many notes moved; tap it to see them in Notes that moved and delete the ones you don't need.
• Guests on a guest link can't mark up charts.

Typed charts too

The same tools work on typed charts. Highlight words, draw on a line, or tap a part of the song to add a note that shows beside its name every time that part comes around.
