Pair the iPads and laptops for Kids (stations)
Open praisepad.app/station on each device, type its code into Settings › Kids › Stations, and give it a job.
Every Kids volunteer works on a paired device, called a station: the welcome desk's laptop, each room's iPad, a hallway TV. A station doesn't sign in. It's paired once by a Kids leader and remembers its job.
Pair a station
- On the device, open praisepad.app/station. It shows and a six-character code.
- Add it to the Home Screen first (on an iPad, the Share button, then Add to Home Screen) and open it from there. A station on the Home Screen keeps its copy of the families, and the iPad is less likely to clear it.
- On your own phone or computer, open Settings › Kids › Stations and choose Pair a station.
- Type the code, give it a name people will know ("Toddlers door"), and choose its job and, for a room, which room.
The device opens its job by itself.
The jobs
- Desk: the welcome desk. Checks families in, adds visiting families, prints labels. See the welcome desk.
- Room: one room's door. The room's list, adults in and out, pickup, paging a parent. See the room's iPad.
- Printer: the laptop with the label printer. Prints what the iPads send. See the label printer.
- Pager: a hallway or lobby screen showing page numbers, with or without Present.
Ready for the service
Before each service a station keeps its own copy of what it needs, so it keeps working if the wifi drops, and shows Ready for 9:00. The list under Stations says whether each one is ready for the next service and when it was last seen.
Rename, change or remove
Choose a station in the list to rename it or change its job or room. Remove a station that's lost or given away: it stops working at once, and anything it sends later is kept for a Kids leader to look over.
