Learn your part: short courses in PraisePad
Short lessons by role, made from the real app, that tick themselves when you've done what they teach in your church.
Learn is a set of short courses, one for each part people play in a church: the worship leader, the pastor, the musicians, the tech booth, the Kids team, the serving teams, the church's admins, and whoever organizes its events. Each lesson is a few minutes: a short video of PraisePad doing it, the same steps written out with the buttons by name, and a button that opens the real screen in your church so you can do it yourself.
Open in PraisePad to try itYour course
Open from your account menu, or from the top of Pad's panel. PraisePad offers the course that fits you first, from your positions and your role:
- Someone down to preach gets the pastor's course, where your church has Present.
- The Worship Leader position gets the worship leader's course.
- A church admin gets the admin course. An owner gets it too, after their first Sunday's course: Home offers it next.
- Someone on the Kids team, by a Kids position or Kids access, gets Kids and check-in.
- A sound or production position, or one that runs the slides, gets the tech booth's course.
- Someone given Events access as an editor or manager, who doesn't play, sing or lead worship, gets Events, where your church has it.
- A leader, admin or owner who isn't in the band, on the Kids team or in the booth gets the worship leader's course.
- A band or vocal position gets the musician's course.
- A serving position, like a greeter or an usher, gets the serving team's course.
Any course is open to you, and a course for another role says who it's for. Under your course, Also for you lists the others that fit you.
A course's core, and Going further
Each course has a core: the lessons for your part on a Sunday, about 15 to 35 minutes in all. When its core is done, your course is done, and it stays done, even when a lesson is added later.
Under the core, Going further teaches what sets PraisePad apart: planning with AI, the Cast, designing a slide, bringing in a PowerPoint, your church's rules and reports, and more. Going further lessons tick the same way, but never count toward finishing, and a new one shows New for a while.
How a lesson works
- Watch the video. The step being done shows along its bottom, and lights up in the list under it. Press a step to watch it again.
- Press the button under the steps, like Open your songs. It opens the real screen in your church: your songs, your next service, your stage.
- Do the step. The lesson ticks itself when PraisePad sees you've done it, like adding a song of your own or opening the stage, and says what counted.
A few lessons show something with nothing to do, like your first Sunday from start to finish. Those tick when you press , or watch them through. So do lessons done on your church's own iPads, like the Kids welcome desk: the desk doesn't sign in as you, so PraisePad can't see you do it there.
Stuck on a step? Open Pad with : on a lesson, the box says "Ask Pad about this lesson…", and the answer starts from that lesson. Each lesson ends with "Did this help?", which tells us which lessons need work.
Anyone can read the courses on the help site too, without signing in. Ticks are kept only in your church.
What counts
Only what you did counts toward your lessons: the sample hymns and the sample service your church started with aren't yours, and an answer a leader marks for you isn't your answer. Once a lesson ticks from something you did, it stays ticked. A lesson you watched through, or marked with , has an .
Your church's owners, admins, and leaders can see your course and which lessons have ticked, not what counted.
