Mark the sermon on the plan

Say which item is the sermon, who preaches, its title, scripture and series. The recording and the church page use them.

The sermon is an item on the plan like any other. Mark it as the sermon and it carries who preaches, its title, its scripture and its series. The booth's recording picks them up, and so does the church page when the sermon is published.

For leaders

Mark the sermon

Open the service, then the item for the sermon (an item called Sermon or Message is marked for you).
Turn on This is the sermon.
Press Add a speaker and search by name. Up to three people can speak. Someone who isn't on the team can still be chosen from People.
Type the Sermon title if it has one (the item keeps its own title on the plan), and the Scripture, like John 15:1-11 or Romans 8.
Choose the Series, or New series… to start one.
Press Save.

The plan's row then reads like "Rooted in Love · Rooted · Lisa Musician".

A new sermon starts with the speakers and series of the last one for the same kind of service, so a series running for weeks needs no retyping. Art and weeks, beside Series, opens the series under Present, where its art and look live (series).

The sermon's slides can be built from the pastor's notes: open the service's slides and press Build from your notes on the Sermon part (the sermon from your notes). The title and passage it finds fill in here when they're empty.

A guest speaker

In the speaker search, press Add a guest speaker, type their first and last name, then Add guest. They go into People as a record without an account, so next time they're found by name. To give them a card on the church page, see Speaker cards.

Children can't be chosen as speakers.
