Reference recordings for practice

Add YouTube, Spotify, or Apple Music links to a song, star the main version, and play the whole set from the Playlist.

Reference recordings help the team learn a song the way you'll play it. Leaders add them to each song: YouTube, Spotify, Apple Music, or any other link, as many versions as you like, each with a label. A star marks the main version.

Add a recording

  1. Open the song from Songs, and pick the arrangement if it has more than one.
  2. Under Reference links, choose Add link.
  3. Paste the link. A YouTube video's title fills in the Label for you. Change it to anything, like "Live at Passion" or "Our tempo".
  4. Choose Add link.

YouTube videos play right on the song page. Spotify and Apple Music links open in their own app, and other links open in a new tab.

The main version

Choose the star beside a link to make it the main version. It plays first on the song page, comes first on a service's Playlist, and it's the one the Listen link opens in requests and reminders. Each arrangement has one main version, so starring another moves the star. Choose a lit star to take it off.

To change a label, choose the pencil beside the link. To swap a recording for another, add the new one and delete the old one.

The Playlist, and Play the set

Each service has a Playlist tab: every song in the order of the set, with its recordings, the main version first. Choose Play the set and each song's YouTube version plays, one after another, right on the page. Songs without a YouTube version are named under the player. Musicians see the Playlist once the set is published.

In emails

When the set is published, requests and reminders list its songs with a Listen link beside each one: the main version when there is one, otherwise the first YouTube link.
