Present: a second person on messages
While you run the words, someone else puts up messages and the Kids pages from a laptop or a phone.
A second person can run the message band and the Kids pages while you run the words: on a laptop beside you, or a phone in the pew. Their seat never changes the slide. Each message goes to the computer running the slides, which puts it up itself, so the slide stays where you left it.
Bring them in
- Where you run the slides, press , then .
- Have them point their phone's camera at the code, or the link and send it to them.
- They open it signed in as themselves, and it connects once the slides are open in Present.
Leaders and anyone with Present access as an editor can open it, and so can whoever is scheduled to run that service's slides.
The seat
- shows where the service is: the part, the slide and its words.
- Your church's saved messages are buttons, first on a phone. One with a blank, like "Parent of #… to the nursery", opens a box to fill in; then press . Leaders save messages in Present's , under .
- Or type a message of your own, up to 200 letters, and press .
- takes it down. The line beside it says "Sent · showing since 10:41", or "Cleared". A message someone else put up says who, when the booth knows: "Showing since 10:41 · Matt" (in Practice, "A message is showing since 10:41 · Dana").
- With Kids & Check-In, leaders and Present editors also see : each page a room sent. puts one up next, and takes the one on the screens down. A page waits behind a message, as at the booth, and says so. While the booth holds Kids pages, a page says "Held. It goes up when the booth turns Hold off"; still puts it up next.
The last message sent wins: one put up at the booth replaces the seat's, and the band is all the two of you share. When someone else is on messages too, the seat says so. In Practice, messages reach the booth's computer and nothing reaches the room, and Kids pages stay on the seat until the slides are live. If the phone was signed out, the seat says so: sign in again, then come back to the page.
At the booth
While someone's on the seat, the top bar says so ("Dana is on messages"), and lists everyone on these slides. turns away any phone's messages for the room's screens and its Kids pages until you press it again, and the seat says the booth muted it. It stays on through a reload or another tab on that computer, for up to 12 hours. Open to see who put the band up and when ("Dana · 10:41"). On a phone, who's on messages and are in .
