Leaving ProPresenter: bring in your songs and playlists
Bring in ProPresenter 6 and 7 songs, a whole library or exported playlists, with their slide breaks and CCLI numbers.
Moving from ProPresenter? Bring your songs into your library with their words, slide breaks, CCLI numbers and copyright lines, and turn your playlists into draft services. The files are read in your browser, on your own computer: only the words come into PraisePad, and pictures and videos stay where they are.
Find the files
ProPresenter 7 keeps each song as a .pro file, and ProPresenter 6 as a .pro6 file, named after the song, in its library folder.
- The whole library: copy its folder from the ProPresenter computer (a USB stick works). To find it, search that computer for one of your songs by its name. In ProPresenter 6 you can also right-click a song and choose Reveal in Finder on a Mac, or Open File Location on Windows.
- A playlist: in ProPresenter 7, choose it, then File, Export, Playlist. You can leave the media out: PraisePad only lists it. ProPresenter 6's exported playlists (.pro6plx) work too.
- One song: its .pro or .pro6 file, or a Presentation Bundle exported from ProPresenter 7.
Bring them in
- In , press . On , press , or drop ProPresenter's files on : they open in by themselves.
- Drop the library folder, songs or playlists, or press . For a big library, press here: it reads every file, where a dragged folder stops at 10,000.
- Check the review: each song's writers, CCLI number and sections, and for how ProPresenter split them. A song already in your library offers or ; one with no name asks for a name, or to skip it. Untick any you don't want.
- Press the Bring in button at the bottom. A big library comes in 400 songs at a time, each round right after the last.
Playlists become draft services
After the last round, each playlist can become a draft service on its date, its songs in the order the playlist played them. Tick the ones you want, check each date, choose the if you have more than one, and press the button to create them. Songs not in your library go in by name. Then check each service and publish it.
What comes in
- Each song's words, with its sections named (Coro becomes Chorus), its writers, CCLI number and copyright line, and the arrangement ProPresenter had chosen as its order.
- Its slide breaks, so Present splits its slides as ProPresenter did, with the CCLI line on the first.
- The key of C, unless the file kept one: add chords and the key on the song's page.
- Not ProPresenter's themes, looks or macros (Present uses your theme), and never pictures of slides.
A ChordPro chart saved as .pro still comes in as a chart: PraisePad looks inside each .pro file. is also under , and on Present's home for leaders.
