Bring in your OnSong library

You can bring your whole OnSong library into PraisePad, set lists included. Make a backup in OnSong, then drop it on the OnSong tab of the import page. You check every song before anything is saved.

Get the file out of OnSong

On your iPad, open OnSong's menu, choose Utilities, then Backup, and make a backup. Save it to Files, or AirDrop it to your computer. A backup holds every song and set list.

To bring only some songs, select them in OnSong's library, choose Export, and pick the OnSong format. That makes a zip file.

Import it

1. In Songs, press Import, then choose the OnSong tab.
2. Drop the backup (.backup) or zip (.zip) on the box, or press Choose an archive. It can be up to 100 MB.
3. PraisePad uploads and reads it, then shows every song to check. About this archive says what was found and anything left out.
4. Check each card. Songs already in your library are marked Duplicate: choose to add it as a new song, as another arrangement, or Skip it.
5. Press the import button at the bottom.

Importing the same backup twice adds nothing twice. PDFs inside a backup are left out: add those on the song's page, or turn one into a chart.

Turn set lists into services

After the import, a backup's set lists are listed. Each one can become a draft service on its date, with its songs in order.

1. Check the set lists you want. Recent ones start checked.
2. Check each one's date.
3. Choose the Service type, if your church has more than one.
4. Press the button to create the draft services.

Songs that aren't in your library go in as plain items by name. The services are drafts: open each one to check the order, pick arrangements and keys, and publish it when it's ready. Go to services takes you there.
