Set up Kids rooms, services and pickup
Rooms by age or grade, what each holds and its ratio, the services with check-in, and the end-of-service alert.
Kids leaders set up Kids under Settings › Kids. Start with the rooms, then pick the services with check-in. Owners and admins are Kids leaders already; anyone else needs Kids access as a manager, with two-step sign-in.
Rooms
Add each room children go to: Nursery, Toddlers, Preschool, Elementary. For each one:
- Ages, from the youngest to the oldest in months, or grades. A child goes to the room their age or grade fits; a child who was in a room last week stays there while they still fit. Grades move up by themselves on your church's grade-change day.
- Holds: how many children at most.
- : the ratio, like one adult to four toddlers.
- : the fewest adults in the room, two by default. A child who needs one-to-one care counts as needing an adult of their own.
- : the room to suggest once this one is full.
- : the Serve positions whose people work this room. They're offered at the room's iPad to tap , and count toward the ratio when they're old enough and nothing on their requirements blocks them that day.
- Color: one of six. Each comes with a deep shade for the room's iPad, so white words on it are always easy to read. Status never relies on color alone.
Services
Under , pick the kinds of service that have Kids. Every time of those services becomes its own check-in (the 9:00 and the 11:00), and the stations pick the right one by the clock. sets how early, an hour by default. A family keeps one code and one page number all day, so a child staying for the 11:00 keeps theirs.
Add a Saturday party or a VBS night under : check-in with no service.
Pickup
Pickup always needs the code on the receipt; a Kids leader okays anything else. A name on a child's "do not release to" list shows in red at every pickup. Choose how many minutes after a service ends the Kids leaders hear about children still checked in; they hear again by email two hours after.
