The PraisePad app for iPhone and iPad
Your schedule, set lists and charts on an iPhone or iPad, offline on Sunday, with Face ID. The rest is on the web.
The PraisePad app is free on the App Store for iPhone and iPad, as PraisePad: Church & Worship. It has what a musician does every week: your schedule with Accept and Decline, your set lists, and each song's chart in any key, kept on the device for Sunday. Everything else is the full PraisePad, in your browser or on your Home Screen. It's the same account, so you can use both.
What's in the app
- My schedule: every church you're on, in one list. A request has Accept and Decline, and you can change your answer.
- A service: its times, your position, the set list and the leader's notes, once the set list is published.
- Charts: any key on your own screen (nobody else's changes), a capo, chords and lyrics, the lyrics alone or chords only, and the text size. A PDF chart shows as it is.
- Offline: every published set you're on in the next two weeks is saved on the device, PDFs too.
- Notifications: a new request, a nudge when you haven't answered, a reminder before you play, and changes to your schedule. Choose which in Me.
- Face ID: sign in with a glance, with the same passkey as Safari (from version 1.1).
- Links: a service's link in a notification, an email or a text opens it in the app (from version 1.1).
- On an iPad, your schedule and the service sit side by side.
Sign in with Face ID
From version 1.1 (update it from the App Store), the app uses the same passkeys as Safari and your other Apple devices. Added one on the web? It's already on your iPhone through iCloud Keychain.
- On the sign-in screen, tap Sign in with Face ID under the email box, and look at your iPhone. An iPad says Sign in with Face ID or Touch ID.
- No passkey yet? Sign in with the emailed code or your password. Right after, the app offers it once: Next time, just use Face ID. Tap , or to be asked again in a month.
- In Me, under Face ID, you see your passkeys and when each was last used. Tap Add Face ID on this iPhone to add one, or beside one. Removing one signs you out everywhere else.
Owners and admins whose second step is a passkey: the app's two-step screen shows Use Face ID, and with an authenticator app too, Use Face ID instead sits under the six boxes. Delete account asks for Face ID the same way. More in Sign in with Face ID (passkeys).
Links that open the app
With the app on your iPhone or iPad, a link to a service opens that service in the app, and a link to its stage opens the chart at the song it names. Without the app, the same link opens in Safari, as before. Home, the planning pages and the links for answering without signing in stay on the web. A link tapped before you've signed in opens once you're in.
On a service you opened from a link or a notification, and on every service for owners, admins and leaders, opens it in Safari, to plan it.
If the app asks you to update
If a change to PraisePad ever needs a newer app, the app says Please update PraisePad, with . You stay signed in and your saved sets stay. looks once more after you've updated. A chart that's open is never closed for it: the message waits until you close the chart.
What stays on the web, and why
The app keeps to Sunday, so it's quick to learn and quick on the day. Planning, scheduling, the song library, people, settings, Kids, Giving, Events and Present are in the full PraisePad, and so is the rest of the stage, like pedals and the tuner. In the app, Open PraisePad on the web in Me opens it in Safari.
