Everyone in your church: families, children and guests

For adminsChecked Oct 10, 20263 minutes to read

The whole church beside the team: families, children and guests, with your own fields and smart lists.

People has two views. Team is your worship team, the way it's always been. Everyone is the whole church: members, regular attenders, guests, and their children. People who aren't on the team use no seats on your plan, and nobody is invited or emailed when you add them.

Owners and admins see Everyone. Musicians and leaders see the team, as before.

Open in PraisePad to try it

Add a family

  1. Open People, then Everyone.
  2. Press Add a family.
  3. Type the family name, and the address if you have it.
  4. Add each adult with their email and mobile. Two adults can share one email.
  5. Press A child for each child, with a birthday and grade.
  6. Press Add.

The household is made with them. The adults become the children's guardians, and two adults are linked as a couple. Everyone in PraisePad has a household, so someone added on their own gets one of their own.

On a household's page, Add someone new adds another person to it, and Someone already in the church brings in someone who already has a record, for a child who lives in two homes.

A person's record

Choose someone to open their record: how to reach them, their household (choose a name to open that person), the team, your church's fields and tags, the lists they're in, and a short history. Edit changes their details, emails and phones (the first of each is the one PraisePad uses), church fields, tags and a short note.

Put on the team puts them on your worship team with a role and positions. That uses a seat, the same as adding someone from the team page. A team member's page has a Church record link to their record.

Filters and lists

  • Search finds names, emails, phone numbers and households.
  • Filter narrows the list: status, tag, adults or children, the team, age and grade, birthday, contact, serving, when they were added, and your church fields. The count updates as you go.
  • Save as a smart list keeps the filters. A smart list keeps itself up to date: someone who starts serving joins it on their own.
  • Pick people with the boxes to add them to a list you pick by hand, or to tag them.
  • Describe a list in words ("people who served last month but not this month") and press Make the list. PraisePad turns it into filters you can see and change before you save anything. It costs a fraction of a cent, from your church's AI allowance.

Your church's own words

Under Settings, then People:

  • Statuses: Member, Regular, Guest and Inactive to start. Rename them or add your own.
  • Church fields: what you keep on each person, like a membership class date or a T-shirt size. For each one, choose what families will be able to do with it when they update their own details. Medical and pastoral notes don't belong here; a protected place for them comes later.
  • Tags: quick labels, like Small group host.
  • Grades: the day each year when every child moves up a grade. 12th graders graduate and get the tag "Graduated" with the year.
