Moving monthly givers from your old provider

Your monthly givers are the ones who most need a nudge when the church changes how it takes gifts. Giving, under Monthly, has a page for it. It takes three steps, and nobody is charged twice.

1. Bring in the list

Export the recurring gifts from your provider (Tithe.ly, Planning Center, Pushpay, Givelify, Subsplash, Vanco or PayPal): names, emails, amounts, how often, and the last gift date. Open the move page, choose Bring in a list, and drop the file in. PraisePad guesses what each column is; change any guess from its list. You see how many givers are ready and which rows are left out and why (no email, a canceled gift). Nobody is emailed yet.

2. Invite them

Invite emails each giver a personal link. It opens your give page with their gift already filled in: the amount, the fund, the schedule. Their first gift here is the one after their last gift at the old provider, so if they gave on the 1st there, the first gift here is next month's 1st. When that date is still to come, their card is saved and nothing is charged until then; they get an email saying so. The page then asks them to cancel the old gift. A giver who would rather not can say so from the link, and you see it. One reminder goes by itself after five days to anyone who hasn't moved.

3. Watch the list

The bar shows moved, invited and not yet, with what they bring in a month. Each row says where that giver is: moved (and when their first gift here is), invited on a date, reminded, not yet, or would rather not. Remind one person, invite one person, or take someone off the list.

The give page has to be open (Stripe connected) before you invite anyone, so their link lands somewhere that works.
