Possible duplicates, and merging two people
Pairs found by the same email, phone or a near name with the same birthday; merged side by side, with undo for 24 hours.
People › Everyone › Possible duplicates (also offered after an import). Owners, admins and People Managers.
The list
Each pair shows the two names, where each is (on the team, their status, their household, when each last changed), the reason in words, and the strongest signal: the same email, the same phone, or a near name with the same birthday. Nothing merges on its own.
- Compare opens the merge.
- Not the same hides the pair for good. The Dismissed tab takes that back.
Merge
Two records side by side. Keep says which record's page and team spot survive: the one on the team or with an account, by default, and Swap changes it. Where the two differ, pick which value stays; where they agree, it says Same. Emails, phones, tags and lists are all kept. The line at the foot says what follows: the team spot, schedule assignments, sub requests, time away, the household.
After Merge, the kept person's page says "Merged with … today · Undo" for 24 hours. Undo puts every moved row back and un-hides the other record. The merge and its undo each write a line in the activity log.
