Giving settings: how you take gifts, funds, budgets and statements
Choose your provider and give link, set up funds with Spanish names and budgets, and fill in what statements need.
Settings, under Giving, is where a Giving manager sets things up once. Bookkeepers and auditors can't change settings.
How your church takes gifts
Keep your provider (Tithe.ly, Planning Center, Pushpay, Givelify, Subsplash, Vanco, PayPal or another) and pick it from the list. The give link is the one address people use to give. Present's Give slides use it, so changing it here changes every Give slide.
Funds
General is ready when Giving is turned on. Add Building, Missions or anything you keep apart. Each fund can have a Spanish name, a colour, a goal, and the QuickBooks account and class or the Aplos fund your bookkeeper uses. Drag funds into the order you want. A fund with gifts can't be deleted; archive it instead.
Mark a fund Not a gift for payments where something is given back, like camp fees. Statements list those apart from deductible gifts.
Budgets
Type a yearly budget for each fund. The Giving home and the reports measure each fund against it.
Statements
Fill in the church's legal name, the address printed on statements, the EIN if you want it printed, and who signs (a typed name). Choose one statement per household or per person, and how many years to keep records (7 by default). Say who sends this year's statements, so nobody gets two with different totals: if your provider sends its own, turn one of them off.
